Sports Rehab & Athletic Therapist
Finola has been working in APC since 2016. She completed her final placement from college with APC and began working here soon after. Finola has a BSc in Sports Rehabilitation & Athletic Therapy.
Her main interest is in rehabilitating sports injuries. However, she treats a wide range of injuries in the non-sporting population also. She loves working at APC as she gets to treat a wide range of patients with varying complaints.
Her typical day is wide and varied and involves treatments and the running classes for Parkinson’s patients, post-op patients or patients with persistent low back pain to mention just a few. She enjoys the diversity but also the rewarding nature of her job.
The clinic ethos in movement is living also lies well with Finola’s beliefs that movement and specifically tailored exercises can be a key part of the rehabilitation process, in turn giving the patient tools to help themselves take control of their pain or injury.
Outside of work Finola enjoys keeping fit and active by going to the gym and keeping moving. Her main interest is camogie where last year (2018) she was part of the Cork Intermediate camogie team that won the All-Ireland in Croke Park.
Finola is currently under undertaking her Physiotherapy Masters Degree in UCC.
