Active Retirement classes are important as we clock up the mileage and the years tick by. Our bodies often feel the strains and toils which may present as back aches, shoulder pains, neck stiffness or feeling like you are slowing down. Without active retirement some people feel like they are getting weak and some experience falls due to loss of balance due to a dodgy hip joint that they have been minding for years. It is all to common to hear of people who go downhill rapidly due to a joint replacement, where they firstly loose fitness, then confidence and in time their mobility and independence is significantly affected.
The good news is that all of this can be remedied by engaging in our active retirement exercise classes and being physically active. The vast majority of people these days are aware of the multiple benefits of exercise but despite this do not prioritise it. The best way to go about it is by having a range of active retirement activities that include cardiovascular exercises and resistance or weight training. This ensures that both your fitness and strength levels stay at their optimum so you can continue doing the things you like doing for much longer.
There are various activities for retired men and women to improve their fitness. By planning your week to include a walk, hike or do some gardening and two resistance sessions you will ensure you tick all the boxes as far as your health is concerned.
Our Active Retirement Classes run every week and people report a new lease of life after just 5 or 6 sessions. The classes are designed to help you improve your strength, work on balance, help with a dodgy knee, hip, shoulder or back that you thought was beyond repair.
